The Most Important Lesson on the Artist Path

If I had to name the most important lesson I have learned on an artist path I would call it placement. The work comes on its own, “unasked for”, and it flows through you so long as you put yourself in the safe keeping of a well kept solitude complete with a sincere looking after yourself.

Solitude doesn’t need to mean alone in a cave (but it could if you like). You can go out every night of the week and this can still work.

But living a wholesome curious existence with long stretches of time where you’re free to be, to craft or not to craft—these spaces with a well kept mind, body and soul flower into something tangible and expressed that every errant atom rejoices to behold.

No need to worry about your art—care for yourself. But not for yourself—do it for everyone. Do it because you’ve fallen in love with everything. Something being has come out of you and it does not matter if anyone finds anything in it or not. It found its way to and through you, something beyond wondrous to behold.

Last month I put out this work of my heart. Click the image to check it out 🙂
