Tenerife Attractions

What’s the best thing about Tenerife? That’s a tough one. Apart from the year-round climate, the fabulous beaches, the well- equipped holiday resorts and the island’s natural beauty, its first-rate attractions have got to be high on the “favourite” list.

Check out the Tripadvisor guide to Tenerife attractions and you’ll find a long list of superb ideas for great days exploring, memorable evenings, family adventures and unforgettable nights out.

One of the big hitters is Siam Park, a vast water park near Costa Adeje in the south of the island. It you can, it’s often worth pre-booking the queue-jumping tickets as it gets pretty busy during peak season, and even in the quieter months too. That’s how good it is! Whatever your age or preference, there are tons of things to do – water slides, hilarious flumes, laid-back pools, fountains, great rides for the kids, paddling pools and plenty of eateries too.

If you prefer to stick to dry land, try the superb Loro Parque in the north of the island, near Puerto de la Cruz. Once a parrot sanctuary, this popular attraction has grown into a large-scale wildlife park with all manners of wonderful creatures great and small. Bring the kids and have a cracking day out, enjoying the many demonstrations and shows throughout the day.

If you’re a hiker at heart, Tenerife is home to several excellent mountain ranges. In the far north-east of the island, the Anaga Mountains offer plenty of diversity and a wonderful environment to explore. And of course the great Teide National Park is a must-see, complete with a soaring peak – Mt Teide – that’s the tallest in Spain. Whizz to the top by cable car and enjoy sweeping views and snow-topped peaks.

Whatever takes your fancy, a hire car is usually the best way to get there. Check out http://en.canarias.com/ and browse their competitive prices to see how they stack up.
